Why should I choose Shangosoul training?
We offer comprehensive personal training programs that involve strength,
flexibility, cardio, and nutritional guidance. Everything is based on your goals, your schedule,
your current fitness level, and your lifestyle. We will teach you how
to incorporate changes with as much ease as possible to ensure permanent
transformations in your body and spirit. We want you to be healthy and happy
for your lifetime - not just while you are training with us.
Can a Shangosoul
trainer come to my gym?
Yes, but you will need to ask your gym if they welcome independent trainers
and, if so, how much they charge you for the trainer to come in. Most
gyms will charge for this and many gyms do not allow outside trainers
at all.
Can I train at home? Will the training still be effective?
Yes. It is a clear benefit to have access to cardio and weight resistance
equipment, but depending upon your condition and goals, you can get a
great workout with no equipment using your body weight, plyometrics and calisthenics.
We can also offer our expertise if you need help on choosing items for a home gym.
Do you only offer
one-on-one training?
Training sessions are available for individuals, couples, and small groups.
Recruit a few friends and have fun getting fit together!
What kind of certification
and education do your trainers have?
We require that all trainers using our facilities have current certification
from a nationally recognized fitness organization such as ACE or ACSM and current liability
insurance. Beyond these certifications, trainer backgrounds will vary due
to practical experience and additional education achieved through training in special populations,
flexibility, metabolism, nutrition, motivation, etc.
Why train?
If you are unhappy with your level of fitness and don’t know where
to begin, we can teach you to be an independently healthful and fit individual.
For many people it comes down to the simple realization that they no longer want to have the same insecuritiees about their bodies 5, 10, or 15 years down the road. The benefits of training are virtually
endless and include increased strength, energy, and flexibility; reduced
stress; reduced risk for many fatal diseases including heart disease,
type II diabetes and high cholesterol; greater bone density; increased
confidence and a more positive body image. Again, there are also many
benefits of working with a personal trainer including advanced knowledge
of effective exercise and nutrition strategies; increased motivation
and accountability; and reduced risk of injury to name just a few.
How do I get started?
Getting started is easy! Once you contact us, we will set up a free
consultation session. When you meet with a trainer, they will suggest
options based upon your current fitness level and short and long-term
health and fitness goals.
When is payment due?
Payment should be made before each session can take place and options
vary from paying one session at a time to purchasing session packages.
Do you offer a payment
plan?
Yes. Arrangements for flexible payments can be made for nearly
all of our packages and programs.
Do you offer any discounts on your various packages?
Yes, we offer several different programs in 60, 45, and 30 minute express
personal training sessions all designed to help you reach your fitness goals. You can enjoy individual instruction, or share the fun with a partner or small group. We offer flexible scheduling, reasonable rates, real results, and do not require any gym memberships or dues at our studio. Special rates are generally available for seniors, students, couples, and new clients. Additionally, existing clients receive 1 free session for referring a new client that purchases 4 or more sessions. Most packages expire after 4 months, and clients are responsible for any sessions that are cancelled without 24 hours advanced notice.
Examples of some our discounts are:
2 - 4% off 4 sessions
4 - 6% off 8 sessions
6 - 8% off 12 sessions
8 - 10% off 16 sessions
10 - 16% off 20 sessions
12 - 18% off 24 sessions
Will I ever be locked
into continuing sessions?
No, you are only obligated to finish sessions which you have scheduled
or paid for.
What if I cancel
a session?
We apply a 24 hour advance notice cancellation policy to all trainings
or you are responsible for full payment of the missed session.
What if I have questions
outside of my scheduled sessions?
Between sessions, our trainers are generally happy to answer questions
about the prescribed fitness program via e-mail.
How many days a week
do I need to train?
This is hard to answer before a first consultation with a trainer to
evaluate your current fitness level and goals. We will do our best to
work within your schedule and budget to make training a regular part
of the week. Your personal health should not a temporary commitment
and in most cases, clients end up looking forward to their workouts
– both alone and with their trainer.
How long are the training sessions?
We offer 30, 45, and 60 minute training sessions to help make the most of your busy schedule. An hour long session is ideal, but you can still get great results in half the time.
What types of individuals
do you work with?
From beginners looking to learn, to fitness enthusiasts looking to take
their workout regimen to the next level; whether you are trying to lose
bodyfat, gain muscle mass, or a combination of both, we will develop
a personalized program focused on your goals and ability level.
When will I see results?
Speed of results vary from person to person and are dependant on many
variables. One thing we can guarantee is that you will see faster results,
and feel healthier and more energetic by starting a program than you
will by considering a program. With that said, your results will be
proportionate to your commitment to training and diet and the level
you want to take it. Clearly, you can achieve faster results with
a more stringent diet and workout plan but the program will be more
intense, and for some people, more difficult to maintain. Other options
would include a steadier plan of diet, workout and lifestyle changes
that you can incorporate into your daily life in a way that is easier
to accept permanently. Different approaches work for different individuals
and this is fine as long as the plan is healthy and the client understands
that there is no such thing as a quick fix or a miracle pill and that
in order to maintain all of the wonderful benefits that come with staying
fit, there will most likely need to be permanent adjustments made.
What is the basis
of your nutrition plan?
We are not nutritionist and therefore do not give detailed meal plans. We will offer guidance
on healthful foods and ways of eating . We do not endorse fad diets of any kind.
Instead we believe that a proper
balance of healthy proteins, carbohydrates and fats, adequate amounts
of fiber and a good variety of fruits and vegetables is the most healthful
way to go. We generally recommend small meals spread out through the
day and proper hydration to keep your metabolism going. Every person
should end up with a diet plan to suit his or her individual needs and
body and of course some people have specific medical dietary needs/restrictions
that require a doctor’s guidance.
How long does a trainer/client
relationship generally last?
Some people enjoy the constant challenge and accountability of working
with a trainer long-term and maintain the relationship for several years,
keeping with training on a regular basis. In these situations, clients
who may be comfortable working out on their own but lack the discipline
to do so are always expected to show up and train their best and constantly
learn new exercises, methods and gain more in-depth knowledge of their
body’s mechanics and its response to different exercise. Other
people like to train on their own and just need a good solid base and
a strategically developed program to start with, while some just want to
increase the variety in their workout to include other aspects of fitness
or new exercises. In these cases, clients may choose to train for a
specified amount of time and leave with knowledge of safe
effective workout strategies, with the option of following up every
so often to review or expand their knowledge. In the latter cases we’ve
learned that if we do our job correctly we will work ourselves out of
that job. Which method works best depends on the individual and their
fitness goals.
I feel like I have
tried everything there is to try and cannot lose weight OR no matter
what I do, I cannot put on any weight. Will a training program really
help me?
Here’s the scoop - you can try every fad diet and miracle pill
in the book, every amazing new cure they sell on the infomercials in
the middle of the night but the fact is most of them are a waste of
money and many of them are actually dangerous and the opposite of healthful.
No one can argue that the healthiest and most effective long-term plan
for losing excess fat and keeping it off, or gaining muscle weight and
mass, is a proper workout strategy accompanied with a healthful, realistic
and goal-appropriate nutritional plan that you can maintain. For many
people genetics plays a strong role in whether the body is slower to
hold on to those stubborn fat pounds or whether it takes ages to gain
a simple pound of muscle on your arms. That does not mean one needs
to resort to unsafe, and in the long-run ineffective methods of weight
loss/gain. We can show you how to make the changes that are
very simple and in the time it takes to try another one of those diet
schemes - you could be making
progress towards your goals and in the process getting healthier
and more energetic. Hey you may even find that you love working out
– we do!
I am a certified
personal trainer and need a space to train clients, are your studios
open to other trainers?

recognized fitness organization and have current liability insurance.
